We have a lot to tell you about ourselves. (If you’ve ever met our CEO, you’ll know that here at Newdigs, we don’t often find ourselves to be short on words.) Lets start with the mission of this blog: The Rochester Rental Market Blog was created by Newdigs for the purpose of providing an online environment where renters and landlords in the Rochester metro can stay apprised of local rental market happenings. Okay, we realize that might be a little vague… but in the ocean of “things we want this blog to be,” we’re casting our net wide. We want to be something that doesn’t exist anywhere yet: A truly comprehensive guide on every in and out of the Rochester rental property market.

Renters, we want this to be a place for you to learn about what apartment inventory is available in Rochester and the beautiful towns that surround it. Not only do we want to show you the best deals in town and the most unique and beautiful apartments, but we want this blog to become a sounding board for your interests and concerns. We’ll be reaching out to industry experts to provide advice on where to live, what to look for in an apartment, and how to deal with landlord, roommate, or lease issues.

Landlords, this blog is as much for you as it is for our renter crowd. You might not know that Newdigs was co-founded by two Rochester city landlords as a tool that they built to address their own dissatisfaction with the current rental advertising options. Being landlords is literally what has kept food on the table the last few years as these young entrepreneurs have delved head first into building the Newdigs.com rental market platform, which means the business of land lording is truly near and dear to our hearts. Right now, only slightly more than half of all of the rental properties in the United States are run profitably. It seems as though there’s rogue renters and cowboy landlords all over the place, making it up as they ride along through the Wild West that is Rochester’s Rental Market. In this chaos, we saw a need for a forum that could bring some clarity to the region’s rental market by providing tools to landlords and delivering news on market trends, new ordinances, and pointers on how to make business easier to manage and more profitable. We implore you to send us your questions, your concerns, and your opinions so that we can provide the type of blog content that will help you the most.
